[Unit Project 2] How to make hamburger steak.
I like hamburger steak very much. I think there is no one dislike hamburger steak. It is loved by all people. I have been eating it since I was a child. My favorite point of hamburger steak is I can choose taste as I like. So I cooked it many times even as an adult. This is the reason why I introduce hamburger steak’s recipe.
Hamburger steak has four booms. The first boom is in 1970s. It is because family restaurant became started in many places at Japan and they became served hamburger steak menu. The second boom is in 1980s. It is because hamburger steak started to become popular as a home-cooked meal. The third boom is in about 2005~2010. It is because the hamburger steak specialty restaurants have started opening. Now is in the fourth boom. People in Japan regard the hamburger steak as one of the Japanese traditional and popular food. Also, these days, there are a lot of Humberger steak specialty restaurants such as "Sawayaka Hanba-gu," popular in Shizuoka prefecture and "Hikinikutokome," popular in Tokyo.
You will need:
Tool
• 26cm frying pan
• Bowl for cooking
• Cutting board
• Knife
• Turner
• Lid as big as frying pan
• Bowl for dishes
• One pair of rubber gloves
Ingredients
This recipe yields 4 servings.
• 250g minced meat
• Two thirds onion
• One egg
• 40ml of milk
• 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
• Appropriate amount of salt and pepper
• Ketchup
• 1 tablespoons of oil
Procedure
1. First, chop the onion. After onion become finer, add the oil and chopped onion into the frying pan, and turn on heat.
2. Second, after onion color becomes brown, put the heated onion, the minced meat, the egg, the milk, the breadcrumbs, and the salt and pepper into the bowl. Wearing the rubber gloves and mixing them well.
3. Next, divide them into four equal parts and shape them into an oval shape. And slap the patty back and forth as you take out the air. Then, make an oval indentation in the patty.
4. After you could shape hamburger steak, put the oil in the frying pan and turn on the heat of medium heat.
5. When the frying pan becomes hot enough, put the patties in it. And wait until browned on one side.
6. When the patties are browned on one side, let them turn by using the turner.
7. After you could turn the patties, add the water, and change the heat from medium to low. Then, wait for 5 minutes. Also, put the lid on the frying pan. It helps fire goes inside enough.
8. Finally, patties become browned on each side, put them in the bowl. And put the ketchup on top.
Finish!
I introduce you about normal hamburger steak recipe, but you can make it as you like. I recommend you put cheese in hamburger steak. My mother always makes hamburger steak with cheese custom for me, and I became love it. The cheese melt by heating, and the cheese extend very long! Also, cheese flavor is much with hamburger steak's juicy taste. I love this custom. I think the hamburger steak is good for special dinner. Please try it!
